The Scientific Method
The Scientific Method is basically defined as a method that has served as the operating framework for conducting scientific inquiry since the 17th century. The process is characterized by systematic observation, measurement, and experimentation via the formulation, testing, and modification of hypotheses. In other words, it is the framework behind every great scientific and engineering breakthrough humanity has enjoyed since sometime in the 1600′s.
At its heart, the Scientific Method consists of the following steps:
Define a question
Form explanatory hypotheses
Test each hypothesis by performing an experiment and collecting data in a repeatable way
Analyze the data
Interpret the data and draw conclusions
Retest (frequently done by other scientists)
The Scientific Method is not a recipe; it requires intelligence, critical thought, inquisitiveness, expertise, imagination, and creativity. Being Conversion Scientists, the Scientific Method is at the heart of everything we do and it forms the foundation of our proprietary M3 Conversion Optimization Process.

M3 Conversion Optimization Process
M3 Stands for Measure, Mix and Maximize. It’s our obligatorily clever way of describing the questions we seek to answer and the steps we take to answer them. Most importantly, it helps you understand how we bring order and success to extremely complex challenges.
During this phase the emphasis is on establishing a firm foundation for data collection and ensuring all of our questions and all of our proposed answers are based solely on fact. At the end of this stage, we will have the information necessary to formulate your optimization strategy.
During the Mix Phase, we “Mix” different versions of your set and elements within your site based on findings from our in-depth analysis in the previous step. By the end of this phase, we have tested our most important hypotheses and have discovered Mixes or recipes that outperform the control.
